Botulinum toxin

What is botulinum toxin?

Botulinum toxin is a natural protein that is used in aesthetic medicine to attenuate the signs of aging, smoothing expression wrinkles and thus rejuvenating the appearance of our face.

I want an appointment.

Who is a good candidate?

All those people who want to temporarily reduce or reduce expression wrinkles such as crow’s feet, forehead, eyebrows, neck, etc.

Contraindications of this treatment

This treatment is contraindicated in pregnant or lactating women, in people with neuro-muscular diseases, who have allergies to the substance, who have undergone recent surgical treatment or who have an infection in the area to be treated.

What does Botulinum Toxin treatment consist of?

After a quick photographic session in order to identify the movements of the facial muscles, the specific points where the product will be injected are marked. The application of the drug is done with a very fine needle. The treatment is very tolerable by the patient, so the use of anesthesia is not necessary.
Botulinum toxin treatment can be done in one or two sessions.

This aesthetic medicine treatment is quick and virtually painless. It does not require prior admission, the process lasts between 15 and 30 minutes and is carried out with the patient sitting or slightly lying down.

Recommendations before and after treatment

Five or seven days before treatment, we recommend not taking anti-inflammatories such as aspirin or ibuprofen. On the other hand, it is possible to take Paracetamol, since it is an analgesic that does not present contraindications.

After treatment, the patient can return to his normal life although, in the first hours after it, we do not recommend intense physical exercise.

The botulinum toxins we use are:
• Azzalure®
• Vistabel®

The results

The effect is gradual, progressive and after 15 days it is already established. However, muscle blockage is not definitive and after 3 or 4 months it begins to lose effect. After that time, new applications can be made, but we do not recommend doing it before four months.
