Tuberous breasts

What are tuberous breasts?

Tuberous breasts are due to a lack of development in the lower pole of the breast that gives it a cone or tube shape. Other characteristics that can accompany this type of breast is a large areola through which the breast tends to herniate. There is usually an obvious asymmetry and the position of the submammary sulcus is usually elevated.

Tuberous breast correction surgery

The surgical correction of the tuberous breasts is performed under general anesthesia and usually lasts an hour and a half. The incisions comprise an area of the breast consisting of the part of skin to be removed that will reposition the areola-nipple complex in its new position.

After correction surgery for tuberous breasts

After the intervention you can return to work in a few days, depending on the activity you do. Your breasts will be more sensitive than normal during that period, so it is advisable not to do physical exercise.
